Anyone with a spare/used armboard for a 124?

Postby stereophile » Thu Aug 28, 2008 3:37 pm

I'm hoping a kind analog soul in WS can loan me a spare/used armboard while I'm waiting for my plinth to be finished.

I need an armboard which is cut-out for an SME 3009 tonearm. I will mount it on this:

I know...it's a styro plinth. Probably the first of it's kind courtesy of Mamimili. :D The 124 has been refurbished & re-lubed. I have strobed it and it is spot-on and quiet. My SME 3009 S2 has been tweaked by Master Hyper and is ready to go. Just curious how it will sound. Might as well try it out and have some fun while I'm waiting. :lol2:

Maybe EFREN can help me out?

Very lovely arm board you've got there and very virgin. Looks like hard maple.

About an inch hole saw will do the trick so that your tonearm's shaft can penetrate it.

Looking forward to your listening impressions on this turn table.

Plinth by Hewlet Packard, modified in about 20 seconds.

Rex- Hi :!: That armboard will be stained same color as the plinth, but will remain a blank. I plan to mount the 12in Schick arm outboard to minimize vibration pick-up. I'd like to compare this particular 124 to my 301 w/c has an outboard SME 312. Should be interesting match up. But that will have to wait till the wood plinth is done.
