@Joey - Those are actually Acacias, which was part of the old plinth and isolation base of the previous turntable
The one above is the plinth while the other set is the isolation base. The armboard is granite.
I do still have a few issues on the armboard base and the granite armboard itself (same material, but different mounting location), but for now, I'll be simply listening to music muna, later na ang re-configuration
Just for added into:
The total length of the tonearm is 14.5 inches, unipivot designed, with the center of gravity of the pivot point above the center line of the tonearm itself. The brass attatchment at the pivot is an outrigger, providing the balance to the armwand, minimizing (in fact eliminating) the effect of antiskate and azimuth problems at the inner track.
I'm still reviewing the headshell design as this design has been carved out to suite the Koetsu. I may have to have the headshell CnC'ed to provide additional weight at the headshell. The headshell mount is in the same point as the stylus, in order to maintain the stylus' vertical and horizintal axis points at along the center line of the tonearm.
VTA can be adjusted by turning the pivot spindle clockwise or counterclockwise.
I would like to thank the Japanese techies (link provided by Kabubi, inspiration provided by Koetsu) for the insights
Yes, their designs may be out of this world, but with the simplifications I did with their design, (along with my own experiences in building tonearms in the past), the info gathered was considered and applied to the design of this tonearm
Yes, this tonearm took almost two years in the making from the time Kabubi showed me the link of the RS-A1 ( As told you I don't like that design and I'm making a new one
)
Well, at least it works
Alam ko na ang tanong ni TAS: "So kelan ang kainan????"
Thanks to all for keeping my hopes up and in keeping the faith that I can do this again
Cheers.
