EESTRERAS vintage dump

Postby eestrera » Mon Jul 06, 2009 1:45 pm

Just posting my unfinished audio setup before I eventually start disposing some from this final tambak of vintage gears. Already started cleaning up and sold a majority of my vintage stuff (dynaco st70, marantz model 15,full range speakers etc) and will have to go through another painful round to get my desired "breathing space". After some renovation, the living/listening room isnt ideal anymore as you would notice several large open windows on the side. Might need to do some treatments to make it acceptable to my ears. Right now I'm not very happy with the soundstage.

As a compromise to my wife regarding the messy cable problems, I agreed to only setup one system at a time. Unused components should have their cables neatly tied :)

I love the tandem of vintage japanese gears and british speakers which is why my setup is basically that. Here are the list of components:

DIY gold speaker cables and inteconnects
DIY magnetic wire cables and interconnects

Luxman t-530 tuner
Luxman L-510 Integrated amplifier
Luxman c-5000a pre-amp

it's hard to focus on the gear when my attention is attracted to the furniture and the windows. i am also in awe as to how you are able to keep your set-up relatively neat and orderly despite the many gems you have there. BOW ako, bro.

hope i/we can visit and admire your system, and furniture, personally.

Thanks Jen. Faux capiz lang yan, technically fiberglass. Used to source it from a friend of mine who closed shop years ago. Just let me know when you want the sandbox

vintage_dog wrote:earl, if the marantz is still available and for disposal, reserve for me please... ;)

Jon Agner wrote:Earl,

Hi Jon,

Yup space is adequate. Will keep on tweaking speaker alignment. Matatapos ko rin to one nakapag bakasyon. About the LP, favorite kasi ng father in law ko kaya ni-request na pakingan last sunday. Hangagang ngayon nakatambak pa rin.

Ka Buboy,

Anytime. Just let me know when you want to go. And yes I still do have another Sansui AU-111. Its currently with rene being checked for some fixing on the volume knob.

Bro Joet,

Thanks sir Looks. Are you just from Tahanan village? I remember someone telling me you just live close by.

Thanks sir halls. Yup i still have one sansui au-111. Didn't know a lot of people here are interested in it. Sayang, an old friend (literally) of mine disposed of his just two weeks ako.
As for the M-4000, I pair it with a C5000a pre-amp.Thanks.

Thanks sir Paul. Furniture is custom made by my shop.

Mandated by my loving wife if I want to have my system in the sala. Naka 5s every month. :)

Thanks sir Val. Naipon ko lang throughout the years and which I consider my vintage treasures.

Thanks sir randy. Need to cross ventilate the entire house and provide passive cooling since I don't have airconditioning ergo the large windows. Works well.
