Turntables : DIY Woodblock with Grace 707. Work in progress / Bling Bling Technics SL1200 Gold Ltd / Linn Basik with Akito arm / Rega P3 being rebuilt.
Phono stage : MF X-LP.
PreAmp : Tono Violin.
Amps : Tono / Sansui AU70 / Pioneer SA606.
CD : Pioneer PDR-509.
I/C's : VdH MCD103 MkII Hybrid.

Image
Speakers : Sonus faber Minima Amator :D :D / Loth-X Ion4 (in the bathroom!).
Tambak sa sahig :D or should that be "Nakalagay ng maayos sa sahig yung mga record?

Planned upgrades.
The room! This was a real problem, vibrating ceiling, echoes everywhere. Experiments were called for and now the room is somewhat tamed. I wanted a cheap experiment as i have no experience of any commercial room treatments, between the speakers i used egg trays with a folded mattress protector, side walls have a foam mattress held up by a wooden blind with more egg trays at tweeter level (left wall not finished yet!) all covered with local fabric. For the princely sum of $60 the room became useable.
I have some large sheets of "echo elimination acoustic board" to try when i get time, definitely not this weekend as music takes a back seat to F1 engine music, the sweetest sound of all
Speaker cables, currently using generic hardware store speaker cable.
Slate plinth, i will start with the Linn Basik, just waiting for the plinth....

Music, same genres as in Manila with a few Chinese LP's creeping in
Cheers :D

Racks from a local audio furniture shop, they have wood, acrylic and glass, standard or custom, decent prices!
They also make speaker stands (some nice Sonus copies).

Good one, just proves music crosses all boundaries and promotes peace!
Wine stocks are very low today :(

The slate guy is in China, back next week so i hope to see progress. If it works out i will get a slate plinth for my Manila Mycro so all can check it out.

I am thinking of a Muslim slate deck set in a Catholic kamagong plinth :D :D

Thanks Dante, anytime you are in KL give me a call!
I have always enjoyed this one, i tend to listen more than tweak, and i thought it was pretty good, but then Arnold tweaked and in a very short time i got layers for the first time :D

Last time i checked only 1 duplicate!! There have been others so i check every 6 months and sell any duplictaes.
Blues beats rock here!
This is why i have a CD recorder in each place :D

I was lucky with the DIY TT, most of the work had been done and all i had to do was the arm, paint it (yuk) remove the paint and now it is oiled. I have added a DIY static "eliminator" which i can swap between the TT's.

Cheers, Paul

best finish in my book.... takes a lot of labor though.... a little oil then a lot of rubbing.... repeating over and over again until you get the glow... not too shiny yet not too dull either.... just enough.....just right.... beats any varnishes or polyurethanes anytime :D

Agree :D I tried polyurethane once and hated it.
My other thought was to have piano black, white or yellow done at a nearby boat builders........
But the oiled finish looks to good to cover up :D
