Keith's lair is no longer a secret. It's been opened wide for us to appreciate and behold. Congrats partner :)

There is also a CD re-issue, would you believe, released by a company called MELT.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Killer-Bees-Airto-M ... 53e0e7c88d

Of course, the normal 'risks' involved in doing ebay will be there.

Thank you Indie Jadis for drawing the map to the hive. I finally got my copy of Killer Bees from Amazon of all places, together with some goody classical discs. Yup, label was MELT, but the picture in the back still has the B&W logo. Excited to give them a listen tonight.

Break In Duty

Postby keith » Wed Oct 05, 2011 10:55 pm

I've been babysitting these LSA Statements for the last 2 weeks. Break in wasn't as easy as I thought, being in the bedroom. They maybe have 30 hours or so on them. Still a ways to go. But I'm still going to miss them.

Thanks to Noel of Audio Amplified for the Cayin AT-50 amp and Xindak cables. And of course to bro Rene for the Rega DAC. The electronics and accessories match the LSAs very well.

The new owner is very excited for the Friday delivery. As for me, I am lucky to visit this system anytime.

So long ... :(

VD, no major changes. Well, aside from the cables I borrowed from Jack, my Lamm pre was set aside for the meantime while I enjoy the V L2 Preamp. I was supposed to send the V back to the Lair but couldn't resist keeping it in the chain. Paging oldfogey

Q, those are the covers the tubes came with. I've disconnected the whole system and they are ready to be delivered. Don't worry, they were off when I was doing break in duty. :!:

Jack, yup! You know I am shy.

So what do you do when you are asked to babysit 10 Watt Single Ended Solid State Class A Monoblocks?

You jump at it! :-) Folks, meet the baby of the Valvet line. The E1.

I'm waiting. . . . .

Postby Oldfogey » Sun Feb 26, 2012 1:43 pm

for the review! Will they, or can they, displace the Lamm 2.1 monos in your system? Do they have the SET magic that I crave?

Sorry OF. It is not as Lamm-bing. So not quite what you'd be looking for based on your preferences. But it does excel in the dynamics factor. :-)

Tiny Bs are meant to be paired with the Ambience 1600 High Eff Ribbons which are very laid back speakers :)

Other than those, I personally think the Tiny Bs would be nice with a large diameter OB set up or horns with big Alnico drivers.

They have this trippy thing going. Notes float and pop like tiny bubbles hence the nickname
