guys, accompanied my wife sa London last week..got the chance to make ikot sa mga vinyl shops....some pictures were taken of the facades only, but i was able to take some pics of the insides...i was gauging the faces ;) of the proprietors of these shops.....kung mukhang mabait, i always ask permission first kung mukhang stern, just the facade na lang....

SOHO District....if you happen to go with your wife or family in this area, sobrang Ok coz you can leave your wife for the shopping along Oxford and Regent streets like H&M, Marks & Spencer, Benetton, Lacoste, La Senza etc then you can drop by for these famous vinyl shops...sorry, didnt check the cd section of these shops. :) plus the area is very accessible by the Northern Line (Black) Underground train with the Oxford Circus stop...

soon to open,The GEORGE, of course unahin ko na ito, namesake eh...corner of Wardour and Berwick street...

recently closed BM Soho...D'Arblay st....

Phonica records, temporarily closed coz of power interrruption...Poland st....
Image

Sound of the Universe...Broadwick st....browsed the shop, selling all genres, especially loved their Beatles' collection, from re-issues to the original pressings..vinyl prices starts from 10 UK pounds.....

being a first timer in London, it was later on that i noticed that there were 2 shops in one commercial space like in this case, this store was in the basement of the Sounds of the Universe..maybe in order to save on rent...didnt notice the name of the the vinyl shop...prices start from 10 UK pounds...bought 2 lps only...

Reckless Records, Berwick st, prices starts from 3 UK pounds....highly recommended, ecstatic about this shop coz i was able to buy the 2 cheapest LA Four lps...sa Singapore kasi before, LA fours were selling at around S$100-150 each.....

Sister Ray, Berwick st also, just right infront of Reckless Records, their collection was more of the CD side plus their vinyls are re-issues and of the newer genres...and a little bit difficult to browse coz the records are behind the cashier area...

more to follow..Camden Town area...

you're welcome!....and now for the second location, Camden town which was recommended by my friends living in LOndon....easily accesible by Northern Train Underground system (Black)....this town is not only famous for the London Zoo but also for the quaint Camden Lock with its international street food stalls, from Ethiopian, Turkish, Malay, American dishes etc..its 100 pogi points if you bring the wife for some private time.. ;) :inlove: ...plus Camden High street is saturated with curio/souvenir shops and street performers....

All Ages Records, Pratt street..caters to the Punk Rock and Heavy Metal people....was able to get approval to take pictures inside...

Sounds That Swing, Parkway street, Martin the salesman allowed me to take his photo....all genres collections....

you're most welcome Jen!....

guys, pls indulge me....a trip to London wouldnt be complete without visiting the famous.....

Abbey Road Studios on Abbey road of course...easily accesible by the Jubilee line (Gray) St John Woods Station..its about a 6 min walk...
Image
Image
Image

of course, the most famous zebra crossing in the world....just a word of caution, even though its like a pilgrimage of sorts to the Beatles, after seeing the area...this is a very busy road..a lot of cars do pass by, maybe residents in the area got tired of the tourist traffic..they wouldnt stop or slow down for people wanting to have their pictures taken on this famous pedestrian lane....the neighborhood is medyo well-off ang mga tao....to be safe, go on a weekend, people are asleep and not too much traffic....

sorry, just had to scrawl my name... :) ;)

and lastly, the Beatles sort of official merchandising store found at the train station...
