Help with Fidelity HF45 Turntable runnning speed

Postby henryfork » Fri Nov 16, 2012 10:37 pm

Hi All

First time here so if I've posted in the wrong area let me know.

I have a Fidelity HF45 turntable that I purchased in the UK (very similar to this: http://www.freewebs.com/bedford_audio/Fidelity%20HF45.JPG). It had been reconditioned before I purchased it two years ago and works well. However it is 220V/50Hz.

So when I brought in to the Philippines and tried to play it on the 60Hz power here it of course played quicker.

Is there anyone that would know how to make a modification to make it run the correct speeds for the 60Hz supply - or if that is even possible? I want to avoid purchasing some sort of frequency converter. I did try to find schematics for it but didn't have any luck. I've not yet had a look inside as I'm not confident enough to know how to even get it open!

Cheers
Henry

You can ask TAS (The Analog Source) ;) he might be able to help you. ;)

He has done speed adjustments to lots of Lencos's already :tmi:

If that TT is belt driven, or idler driven at that, the speed can be corrected by
changing the diameter of the pulley ;)

Hope this helps...good luck!
