Most sound as good as they look!

Be aware when choosing a tape deck though, as far as i know only Revox have "all" parts available.
If tempted by an Akai, go with models with glass heads (look for the GX suffix as in GX-270 so nothing made before the 70's).

Finally, I was able to get my Revox G36 and Lenco L75 from my uncle's condo in Roxas blvd this morning. The Revox open reel was darned heavy and almost broked my aging back. My problem is the 2 busted tubes, one is encased in a metal casing so I really had no idea what tube it is. I need suggestions from you guys on whom to approach re: Revox checkup. The Lenco will be under Doc Noly's skillfull hands next week once he's back from a much needed rest. :) Here's a pic of the Revox open reel ;)
