whoa! now playing "Brother Four" LP with DIY silver cables from Aria to Valvet...

so far, it has humbled 3 of my "budget" phonostages (sorry, can't mention what they are)...

from their site:

The Aria is an "all analogue amplifier" with no digital control circuitry. - no idea what that means :) but sure sounds good

Does it have to be plugged in 24/7 or does it have a reasonably short warm up time? What's it retailing for ? :)

i left unit on since 24hrs ago...now has over 10 hours of playtime on it...

straight out of the box, bass was a bit bloated with slightly rolled-out highs but sound was quite open and very good staging...vocals was quite sweet

after about 10hrs of music, highs now extended, detailed, not analytical, grainless

bass now tighter and never boomy

great on analog, very good layering and sound very natural...excellent mids

even my CDs sound like analog :)

i just plugged back my "reference" tubed phonostage ...sad to say, my reference sounded a bit slower and instrument definition not as great as the aria...with a bit more sibilance... :(

hmmm...

am off on a trip next week so zenaudio will baby sit the aria while am away...

good luck nes....

now back to the aria...and playing:

"..before you slip into another unconsciousness, let me give you a kiss...."

poorly (digitally) recorded LP didn't sound too good...but music was intoxicating...
