empty nest...

Postby vintage_dog » Sun Mar 11, 2012 10:17 pm

as most of you already know, our house is an empty nest (with my two children now out)... :(

so i have more rooms available to make music-ready :D yehey!!

spare room #1 (casual listening set-up) - iPod classic -> Japanese Elekit 2A3 SET ->) Fostex bookshelf

spare room #2 (enjoying vinyl set-up) - thorens TT -> bellari tube phono -> tono 12au7 pre -> dynaco st35 amp/quad IIs -> celestion 3

spare room #3 (play it loud set-up) - spare laptop -> cj pv11 -> cj mv60se -> sonus faber concerto (pre-home)

attic (feeling audiophile set-up) - hmmm donno yet, maybe a TT -> tono erotique -> 76 pre -> vt25 SET -> open baffle ???

and CHI-KA horns (for serious kuno listening set-up) will be driven by a 245 SET or a 300B? we'll see

finally the disco set-up - the VS JRs. probably bi-amp again mcintosh2105/marantz8 :^)

....will be a busy summer ahead... :lol:

Francis, I touched my soldering iron last night, I can still feel the "electricity" flowing into my veins. I'm also setting up my room again, so yes "it's all coming back to me now..." :rofl:

currently, am using a cable that connects at the bottom (not the earphone jack) and terminated with RCAs into the amp directly. i got this several years ago in Singapore when iPod was just new. the other option i use in another system is the wadia transport into a musical fidelity DAC. there are now a few very good docking stations for the iPod which outs to preamps.

i'll take a pic one of these days.
