FS: nOrh 6.9 speakers...P12k only - SOLD!

Postby vintage_dog » Wed Sep 17, 2003 11:28 pm

"1 pair of Norh speakers - Monkey Pod wood, model 6.9. This was one of
Michael Barnes' first speakers. Very good and clean sounding
speakers.

These particular speakers are not being manufactured by Norh anymore,
because of the difficulty in getting the raw materials (large Monkey
Pod logs) needed to make the speakers. They were replaced with
synthetic ceramic type enclosures in his next evolution of these
speakers."

Make me an offer

SM 6.9
Uses the new XT tweeter from Vifa
Uses the Vifa M18W0-09-08 woofer
Rated with a sensitivity of 87 dB
Response down to 38 Hz -3 dB and 28 Hz -10 dB
Frequency response is 40 Hz to 22,000 Hz
Can handle 300 watts of power
Offers deeper bass, more detail and better power handling then SM 6.1
The best speaker we make under $1,000

Hi. I'm just new to this forum. I'm curious if you have done a comparison of the Norh 6.9 and the SF Concerto. How do they sound?

Do they sound good at ultra nearfield - about ~2' away from ears? If so and nobody has yet to bite at the nice offer, these seem to be the perfect replacement for my B&W DM303 PC speakers hehehe. Consider them sold - to me. :D

they would be oversized for PC speakers  but they do sound good at nearfield...you are free to get them anytime.

they are 8 ohms. by the way, we ran these speakers with our new 300b SET amps and they played very loud and nice. we compared them with sonus, spendor and iceman's monitor audio and it came out the overall winner with the 300b (because they were easy to drive).

i'll have iceman give some comments as he heard them too...

guys,

darth hansen is here and auditioned them, liked them, and taking them home!

why not? it has the expensive Vifa drivers used in sonus faber...

also, boy at p12k, some folks have texted me why am selling them...these speakers are $1000!!!

congrats hansen! enjoy them!

i took a nap yesterday afternoon and when i woke up, i suddenly had an interest of getting the norh speakers. maybe i woke up on the audio side of the bed. i immediately got sir vd's mobile phone number and made a reservation. too bad! it was a bad timing again :x . hans was already on the speakers when i made my decision. huhuhu  but hope was still on my side so i invited my wife to go to festival mall and roamed around there without her knowing what my plan was. i was hoping hans would still change his mind. hehehe. :D after an hour of walk, i called up sir vd to confirm the sale and knew that there was no chance of getting the speakers anymore. i realized then that i just missed one big bargain but at the same time found a relief too that i saved some money :D

to hans, congrats! enjoy them. :)

happy new year to all!
