This is a hybrid loudspeaker mating a dynamic woofer to a ribbon midrange/tweeter.

Please read Robert Harleys Stereophile review:

Pics are of the actual units.

Nice looking speakers, Kuks. These are in the same class as my Martin Logan Aerius i's. I'm sure they are fast, fluid, transparent speakers. What do you drive them with?

Doc,

Been driving them with the V-140's. Same pedigree as your amps. 8)

VD,

I've driven them with a NAD integrated before with no problems. Perhaps 60 watts of tube power should be ample.

hey nox, i'll have a chance to listen to them next weekend. at 83db, am not sure if any of my amps can drive them satisfactorily. if not, they are yours...

will try to have my eico hf60 (big brother of the hf35s) monoblocks ready by then...or perhaps the marantz 9 monoblocks?

Sixty watts should be good, but ideally 100 watts of tube power should be right to drive them without losing composure. There's a tendency for the ribbons to sound "untame" with low power. Anyway, I hope it works out for you. At least it would still be within striking distance.

Was at Kuks place......just wondering why he was selling it. 2nd, why such a bargain price? If its the speakers, i can't hear anything wrong with it, if its me, then i still have a lot to learn in listenning and looking out for lousy sounding units. Because i still have to hear what's wrong. Honestly, I told him to hold on to it. for Pesos 32k, how much will he add to get a new set of "same " sounding speakers?? Again, its just me.

Looks like Kuks needs the SPACE not the money ;)

The question is....

What's he making room for?
