use the tape loop. connect the analog input of the cd recorder to the tape out of the pas pre. then connect the analog out of the cdr to the tape in of the pas. like hooking up a cassette / reel recorder. i'll check my pas if there is a tape/source switch for monitoring your recording. i forget now since i haven't used the pas for quite some time.

leave the selector of the pas on phono and play a record and see if the recorder is taking in a signal. don't forget to set your recording input on the cdr to analog. you can also monitor your recording through headphones by using the headphone jack of the cdr (if it has one. i'm not sure since i use a pioneer cdr.) this should work fine. enjoy.
