In the March issue of the high-end UK based "Hi-Fi News" the IKON 6 was tested against a line up of our respected collegues in loudspeaker production.

The IKON 6 was awarded the "Best Buy" of the bunch.

Former Hi-Fi News chief-editor and renowned reviewer Steve Harris wrote about the IKON 6; " It´s an excellent all-rounder, it´s unfussy about room positioning and proves to be endlessly listenable."

"...the IKON 6 just feels more like a real music loudspeaker. It has dynamics and detail, but also the subtle textures, overall coherence and stereo staging ability that audiophiles want..."

To finish the job, he comments on the vinyl finish of the IKON 6 "... a finish that´s indistinguishable from real wood."

Excerpts from Stereophile's Review (July 2006)

Sometimes, these favorable first impressions wear off quickly. Maybe what at first struck me as uncolored detail turns, over time, into listener fatigue. Or perhaps what at first sounded sweetly intoxicating turns into euphonic colorations over the long haul. It’s the rare speakers that, on first hearing, make me smile because of its amount of uncolored detail and sweetly seductive sound. It’s a rarer speaker still that keeps that first smile on my face throughout the entire reviewing process. The DALI Ikon6 is such a speaker.

I was immediately captivated by the Ikon 6’s rich, detailed, holographic presentation of just about every vocal CD I played.

With all of the recordings I played, the Ikon 6’s unusual tweeter array reproduced detailed and extended high frequencies with no touch of bite or harshness. Transients were fast and articulate without seeming unnaturally sharp.

The Ikon 6’s bass performance was fairly natural, though a slight midbass warmth was noticeable with certain recordings.

I was also impressed with the Ikon6’s soundstaging. Playing well-recorded classical works, the speakers “disappeared,” and it was quite easy for me to hear the acoustics of the various recoding venues.

In the Ikon 6, Danish Audiophile Loudspeaker Industries has produced a visually attractive loudspeaker that has very few shortcomings and is a captivating performer over a wide range of musical material. At $1,595/pair, the Ikon is a SUPERB VALUE – I recommend it to anyone considering buying a floorstander speaker for under $2,000/pair. Well done, DALI. I look forward to hearing more of your designs.

Robert J.Reina

STEREOPHILE finds the IKON 6 a SUPERB VALUE. We wonder what they'd call it at our cash price of only $905 (48,000 pesos)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's more than 40% less its US SRP!!!!!!!! :):):)
