I had an initial listening session with X719 yesterday. I really must say that this speaker is a steal even at SRP!

It's very revealing. I heard this with primare amp and mastersound. The difference is very noticeable. A simple change in power cord also has tremendous effect.

I still have to listen more on this speaker. For now, I can't find any fault on it. It's performing way above its price.

Can the 845's (18Watts?) of mang Rod drive these babies? What is the
minimum requirement to make them 'sing'?

Thanks,

hi,

i've auditioned the usher x 719 at your store and it's very good .... while waiting for your stocks to arrive , i am auditioning AVRs to match those beauties .... can you recommend a speaker brand/model which has similar characteristics to the usher's ... for AVR auditioning ?

Hi Bayonic,

Can't think of a speaker that sounds like Usher. But in our opinion, your AVR should be neutral or warm sounding. The x-719 easily reveals the character of the gears driving it. So choose an avr that is neutral to warm and smooth to start with.

Btw, shipment is expected to arrive first week of August.

Cheers and good luck.

I've heard X-719 several times with different amps. The sound is very different from each other. I have Yamaha, Pioneer and HK. I'd say, stay away from Yamaha and pioneer (at least those in the entry level).

thanks for the tip ...

i'm looking at the Pioneer VSX-AX5i because of the ILink compatibility with my existing DVD player ... or the HK 330 for starters ...

also a Denon 1804 or 3805

thanks again.

I heard X-719 with HK and I'm very satisfied with the sound. If I would be in a hunt for AVR to match Usher, I don't have to look further. My Yamaha and Pioneer are bright for my taste. I'm a user of B&W805 which is known to be bright, so, you may conclude that my entry-level AVRs are very bright.

I'm not familiar with the other models you're looking. Just check if there's any indication of brightness because the Usher may tend to exagerate that.

BTW, I am biased to audio applications. If you're more into movies, please don't consider my inputs. :)

I was with a friend two days ago at AA and again checked out the X719's. Definitely value for money mini monitors. will give the older Sonus's a run for their money. Great system friendly speaks! Thanks for the company, Epoy and hope to pass by again.
