What's your cutoff?

Postby TheAnalogSource » Mon Jul 04, 2016 6:27 am

Let me start a sensible discussion here at Ws again.

I have been building speakers for quite a while. Lately I've been designing and building crossovers for horn system. Whenever I get to discuss my speakers, the first question is always what is my cutoff frequencies. Previously, Ive been hearing it in audio discussions too expecially in diy system.

I was wondering how knowing the cutoff frequencies would be of help. My take is only if you have exactly the same system can you copy the cutoff because aside form the drivers - the box and the horn will also affect the sound output. Thus it is a system design altogether.
