hi ferdie,

the sun vt25 is now up and running...still too early to tell, but this amp needs a good break-in...sound is a bit harsh and thin.

amazing how this amp can play loud driving the voigts with only 1.3wpc...

will keep you updated...

btw, the speaker posts, rca inputs have all been replaced with better ones. coupling caps are auricaps and cathode bypass caps are all black gates...

Hey Ferdie,
Have you heard the 6V6 based amp yet? Let us know how that sounds please.
The 2A3 kit is a very sweet sounding little amp!!!

72 hours on the vt25 amp and it sounds much more open now. highs are pretty extended and refined. grain disappeared. surprisingly, at 1.3wpc, this amp plays loud..in fact louder than the tb2a3 amp.

this amp is sensitive to cables used as well as quality of front-end and software. compared to my 45 amp, this has leaner bass. this is not an amp you would call sweet and tubey, rather i find it clean-sounding, articulate, detailed but not analytical.

i'll work out some mods/tweaks after 100 hours to make it sound more lush like my 45.

great value amp especially with tamura iron and premium parts.

francis, as we all know, the original TB2A3 never got past 1W :( which was the reason for the tweaks.
