Finally, its available locally through Sounds N Images & Sensible Concepts.

After a few weeks of testing Amarra software (Mini & Amarra) , and super happy with the results, me and partner Frank decided to bring them in to the Philippines.

If you are a Mac user (macbook, macbook PRO, mac air, Mac desktop) & you are using i-tunes with a USB DAC-output to your sound system, this software is a treat and a must have.

Best part about this is you can download a free trial for 15 days & if satisfied, you can purchase the license code through us.

http://www.sonicstudio.com/amarra/amarr ... t#DOWNLOAD

3 Models available:

The fullblown Amarra ($695)

The Mini ($295)

The JR ($99)

The best part for a limited time, or while promo last, these are on sale.

The fullblown Amarra at $545 (or peso equivalent)
The Mini $225.00 (peso equivalent)
Jr- sorry no sale.

Come see us at the November 2011 HiFi Show Room 451 and 452 for a demo of what this software can do in our sound system.

Thanks for looking & if you have further concerns, please PM us for assistance.

Ferdie how would you describe difference to Pure Music, output wise? Also is Amarra compatible with Lion? Thanks.

Amarra is more refined, more of a 'hi-fi' sound. It works fine on my Lion machine. :)

the easy answer is yes, it works with Lion.
As to the difference between the two, the amarra is more analog, fuller sounding.
The midrange is also more palpable compared to the PM.
PM is a little bit more lively but at the same time not as refine sounding as PM.
Best if you can download it & try it in your mac. Its free trial for 15 days.
However, biggest advantage of Amarra is the EQ feature which the PM does not have.
Hope that helps.

Thanks

Comparison Chart :

Which one is right for you ?

Sonically, all three sound the very similar, but the Mini is the most popular model as it plays up to 24/192 hi res files & it has most of the features of the full blown Amarra at almost half the price.

Finally got it working last Sunday Ferdie but it had to be the full version as the Mini appears incompatible somehow with my OS setup. I love how it sounds. I thought it sounded very analog - full, organic, more bass impact - definitely more hi-fi as mentioned by carbondated. There's no going back to Puremusic now.

Hi Sir,

Would you know if this also improves the sound of Flac's streamed from Mac to other devices? Squeezebox or Apple TV?

Does not work that way. You have to use i-tunes & use amarra's decoding engine. From there macbook to the USB or firewire out to Dac.

Ferds, What USB-DACs do you recommend for this setup? Can you give ideas from entry-mid-hi levels?
Thanks
