Congrats FLD for a job well done.

IMHO this room just blew me away! Room 624 was a venue that I spent a lot of time in.

First observation would be the silence and blackness of the room. Its the Purist cables that I was hearing (or not hearing). This is what the cables are supposed to do. The music appears from the background.

Next would be The Accuphase Digital Separates. At USD 33,000 for the pair, I knew its not for the ordinary man. The sound was just right. Not bright, nor warm, not even neutral. I could say its balanced! That's the term.

The symposium Isis rack was my dream rack but I don't recommend it for use with a turntable.

Last but not the least were the Harbeth HL5's. Truly a world class speaker.

This is the only room that gave me an e*ection....ooops, i mean hairs standing/goosebumps . Others wowed me too but the experience here is simply emotional... truly an excellent setup for me (but not for my pocket )

Your recommendations over the last years to me were always spot on. What I heard in your room tells me what I could achieve if I took your advice to the extremities of my wallet.

HI Ferdie,

Loved your set-up especially the Harbeths. This is the most warm (non-tiring) set-up I have heard without losing detail, focus, image, etc, etc, etc. Even at low listening levels the musicality was not lost. I went back to your room several times and even dragged a friend to have a listen.

Great work. Hope to see you one time in Cebu.

Treatment includes:

6 pcs ASC sound panels on the glass windows; 3 pcs on back of listener's chair.
3 pcs ASC 16" tube traps absorbing 55 hz
1 Pc ASC 11" tube trap stacked into the middle 16" trap absorbing 90hz frequency and acting as midrange diffuser.

And baby ASC studio trap on adjustable tripod stands controlling 1st order reflections.

Hi Ferds!

I want to tell you every year sa HiFi show, your room is the last one that I visit because there is a saying..."Save the best for last." And I must say...I doing the right thing!

This year, Accuphase and Harbeth! ...what's for next year? hmmm...

Many thanks for the nice words and comments. The sound of this room is no coincidence. Its the combination of the cables, stands, equipment support, room treatments, speakers & amplification that made this room sound this way. Take one equation out & the sound alters. Its synergy.
