i think that turntable is good as gone.
1. it's been 2 weeks + since the HiFi show. the person who took that table would have known by now that something that he/she got "by accident" does not belong to them.
2. if it was taken "by accident" by someone, that person would have probably been an exhibitor and would have realized that the item belongs to another exhibitor. would have been easy to post here in WS that he/she accidentally took an item that they don't own. or Tonyboy would have been informed.
3. that kind of table and arm is something to die for. a soul burning in hell is a small price to pay for a Rivoed SP10 and EPA 50H tonearm.
4. the person who took that table knows the value of that item; that person knew that what he/she obtained is a "steal". if the thief is not into the hobby, they wouldn't know the value of that gadget, much less who to sell it to --- so why bother.
5. i wouldn't expect to see that table, or its parts, to crop up as a For Sale item in on-line forums or in the papers. it is a one of a kind item that is too unique for interested buyers to not know who it belongs to. maliit lang ang mundo ng audio dito sa 'Pinas.
6. even if a reward is offered, it is most likely that the person claiming the reward is the culprit. and the culprit would be too devious to fall into such a trap.
the sooner you accept the fact that some people who you consider friends or seemingly decent individuals are capable of stealing from you, the quicker you will be able to get over it.
but sometimes, miracles do happen. but i wouldn't bet on it.
i'm sorry if i sound like a curmudgeon but sometimes it is good to temper hope with the plain and unsalted realities in life.
