Recent/Modern Vinyl Community

Postby dnsnlsn » Sun Sep 23, 2012 9:49 pm

Hello!

My name is Denis and I have been lurking this community for a while now. I have finally decided to fully join the forum and I wanted a proper introduction.

Let’s get one thing straight – I think I would be correct in assuming that I am below the mean age of people on here. I am only 19 and have been into audio and specifically vinyl for only around 6 months. I am also a member of vinylcollective.com and think that is more of a site that caters to my music taste and ‘age group’.

But I am also unsure if there are people like me here that like to listen to more modern/current music. I have noticed that a lot of people on this forum are more interested in the classics and pre-2000’s music and that is all good but I want to know if there are more youth who are into vinyl as well…

Anyways, I am very excited to join this forum and am excited to maybe help expand the kind of music and vinyl that is talked about here.

So this is not only an introduction post but also a shout-out to people in my age bracket who want to talk about vinyl that is more current.

_____

Current Set-Up:

REGA RP1 > Parasound Zphono Pre-Amp > Dared MP5 > Wharfedale 10.1

almost have 2 racks full (around 100 records total)

most prized pieces

some newly acquired LP's

I think looking through these examples, you might be able to judge the kind of music I listen to and why I refer to them as 'modern-day' and hopefully some of you out there are into this kind of stuff too.

PS: I'm not trying to put down 'older' music (I love that stuff too!) but I just really want to create a sub-group of people who are part of this niche I am thinking of.

BTW, If you are into The Needle Drop on YouTube, you will fit right in.

THANKS FOR READING

BRAVO!!! Finally, a young recruit to the vinyl audio ranks who is not part of the "old music" school of audiophilia!!! May your numbers increase and may you educate the more seasoned audiophiles in this forum like Doc "UPGRADE KING" Endrik on newer musical renderings!!!! :D :D :D :D After all, music is an expression of emotions and the soul and is there for the appreciation of mankind!!!!

Welcome to Ws Denis, you’ve come to the right place to fit yourself in. ‘am sure you’ll find some peer group here whose interest is similar as yours and hoping that you could influence some vinyl lovers here to try to sneak or get into your world or maybe things might change( vice versa). Anyways enjoy your stay here.

a rather 'strong' introduction, but hey, welcome to WS, dns.

music knows no bounds, so your music genre is not entirely strange to people 'outside' your age bracket... say 26?
many of us here are just approaching 30 so fell free to mingle.

I just got Lana del Rey's album "born to die". Does that give me the right to wear ankle high skinny jeans and a purple cardigan without violating any municipal offenses? :D
