Daft Punk Reveal 'Random Access Memories' Vinyl

This article from Billboard says that "The album was recorded on a soundstage, entirely live without drum machines or loops."
But if it was recorded digitally and then transferred to vinyl with the same mastering job then why bother getting the LP, no? I got Adele's 21 on vinyl and I have to admit that the FLAC sounded better. Are there any artists from the 90's/2000's who specifically record their music for vinyl apart from CD's? I hear Nirvana's Nevermind is excellent.
P.S. I'm new to analog (got my Rega RP1 / NAD Preamp / Sakura Tube Amps / Mission speakers last Friday)
