Keep up the great work. I'll post pics of the decks once I've set them up at home. New stand and shelving are coming in next week for these babies of mine.

Look who's back!

Remember these decks I refurbished 2 years ago?

For those who didn't see this before, the whole story is here:

http://www.djforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=181076&highlight=technics+refurb

Well, it's back after being abused (again). The former club (Embassy) where these decks are used have three rooms. Although the club itself have 4 pairs of Technics including 2 limited edition MK2s, this pair has been their favorite to abuse. So the pair were often transferred from one room to another. Now, these are used in the new club called Republiq. So after 2 years, here is how it looks now. :freak:

I had to disassemble everything and scraped the the frame to raw diecast metal including the tonearm assembly. But all the electronics are still in perfect condition. I only had to lubricate the spindle and re-calibrate the tonearm and pitch controls.

After a week of work, here it is now and I hope it stays in this new condition for a longer period. I used polyurethane automotive paint this time for more durability against scratches, bumps and chips.

My most recent Technics refurb. Nothing really fancy. My client preferred a decent look. :)

Finished in matte black using automotive acrylic paint

-Scraped the top frame to diecast metal and repainted
-scraped the tone arm section base and pivot bridges and repainted
-replaced pitch control
-replaced pitch control aluminum decal
-replaced the strobe, 33/45 and pop-up lamp with super bright white LEDs
-rebuilt and re-calibrated the tone arm to factory setting
-cleaned the switch,start-stop,33/45 assembly
-cleaned the main board and power supply
-modified the pitch control to "dip less"
-internal grounding
-re-painted the rubber base
-scraped and repainted the platter. Also did a 3-step refacing

Here are the pics before:
