TP,
I suppose proper room treatment can solve the problem to some extent but experiment first with placements as I note you still have some more room to play around.

Your objective is either to protect your TT from vibrations caused by your powerful subs or to completely move the TT from "harm's way". I've seen audiophiles move their TTs 20 feet away from their powerful speakers and that works (of course you need to have good interconnects to do that, else you'd be facing another problem - possible ground loops & hums).

Just take it one-step at a time & enjoy :)

Oh, if you go the wall mount rack route, just make sure that you mount the rack on a concrete wall. ;) If its just mounted on a wall which is made of wood or plywood, that would be worse. ;) Also, don't use those plastic thingies (forgot what its called) that you put on the drilled hole in the whole. Use the heavy duty metal ones so the rack will be able to hold heavy loads. :)

Ok, that would I think be the last resort to do. You're right, I still have more options to play around the room. Speaker cables will just be running around all the way to the system, not the signal cables as to avoid the grounding issues ang hums.
Thanks Sir Egay!

Hi there, m_shoe_maker,

Yep, I have this concrete wall to mount on if ever things can't be solved well. You were pertaining to the plastic plugs or the "toks" am I right, sa tagalog. ;)

Right on! "Toks" it is. :D

The metal Toks I used were around 2 inches long. I installed 6 of those. I had to do this as my TT before weighed around 110 lbs. :P Geez, my table was heavier than me.

Thanks to Noly and his exhibit at the November hi-fi show, I got an idea from his PSU support and made myself one, actually an improvisation. Instead of putting the PSU in a table down below, the PSU sits underneath the TT. Made a rounded feet made of stainless steel painted flat black to increase the height(for clearance) and here it is... :)

an unsolicited advice especially to those who is planning to build a tt rack or platform....

a very important factor is how you tight you can make the joint...if possible make it force fit as you can as well. it will spell a big difference in resonance control. let me invite you to make a comparison between a tightly made rack (china made and bought in LIS ) and a regular one. hear the difference.

@endrik...wag ka na magexperiment...mas pogi un samin    upgrade na

Hello,

I have a monstrous 3-piece wall unit, and I built a walnut-plywood plinth the size of a shelf, and cut it out to install my TD 124. Works great, and since it's high up, (52") off of the floor, my cat, kids, etc, can't bother it.

I have a maple butcher-block top with three copper pipes for legs. There is some cross-bracing (mass loaded with low C of G), and under each leg is a cork/rubber vibration dampener pad.

It all sits on the brick and concrete fireplace hearth which is flush with the wood floor (basement below).

Wall mounting would be better, if I were not married it would be bolted to the fireplace. ;)
