Voted: On a sturdy rack coupled to the floor
:?: just wondering when playing vinyl from a turntable and begin to increase the Bass control of the mixer from a flat setting, a low fequency sound develops gradually until it loops tremendously, especailly with the high music level. Considering I have a concrete tiled floor, the rack is a wooden 4-layered table, and a meter distance from the left 3-way 12" speaker, the LF oscillation reduces only when I raise up a bit the front side of the turntable.
Please help, what should i need to do? I even tried to place a foam below the vinyl player, but it didn't solve the problem.
I dont want raising the turntable everytime I play a loud bassy music.
Appreciate in advance any good suggestions.

Never raise or move your turntable when its playing music. :!:

Is your wooden 4-layered table sturdy?

Experiment by moving your turntable farther form the speaker. :)

yep, it's sturdy. actually I have two turntables on both ends of the table, my mixer at the center. Both of them suffers the same thing. here's some of the pics of the table when I got it delivered to my flat 1 year ago.

I just got an idea on this nice wall mount rack.
I don't think an adequate room listening level will resonate this mounting.
Is it right?

My audio room is on the 2nd floor, and the floor is wood (no concrete underneath), so I had no choice but to go to the wall mount route. ;)

Whatever TT I put on it, I don't have problems with vibrations and stuff. :) I have kicked the wall 1 feet away from the rack, and my TT did not have problems, no thuds or weird sounds were picked-up by the cartridge.

congratulations for the ingenuity you have. ;)

So for my system, aside from wall mounting it, is there any other better solution? I even turn my subs OFF whenever playing vinyls. :(
By the way, this Numark already has good sets of rubber footings. :pizza:

Remember: the cartridge is a MICROPHONE :!: - whatever sound/vibration produced in your listening room will be picked-up by your cart & magnified... low frequency crawls and travels long distances.

Your rack is NOT sturdy enough so it vibrates like crazy. Either relocate your TT away from your speakers, or get a sturdier rack.

BTW, try relocating your TT in-between your speakers for that area would be one of the 'quietest' in our room.
Then again, I'm just guessing because I don't play loud, disco-like music in my room.

Ultimately, try to tame your bass.

Enjoy!

Hi Sir Egay,

Thanks for the nice inputs. ;) I'll try relocating the turntable rack and experiment with the previous music and levels that trembles the cartridge. I can’t put it in between my speakers as much AV stuffs are in there already, that’s why it was placed somewhere beside the AV rack, but not into the corner as I experienced that the LF at that point really rolls over the other. Do you think acoustic materials or pads on walls can minimize or solve it?
I will also try a wall mounted rack just like m_shoe_maker did, if relocation or a sturdier table won’t work.
Yeah, I do tame my bass ultimately (no choice) and even turn my subs OFF. :x
They will just come to life again when I play CDs and DVDs. :|
