For the Shure M97xe, it's pretty much the same. With the brush up, I set VTF at 1.25gms, VTA sl. tail up & anti-skate at 1. Lovely sonics. Pretty close to the V-15xMR. 8)

On a Rega ttable, if you don't have a VTA adjuster (threaded or for 3-point) you can adjust VTA up to a point by varying mat thickness.

Thanks Doc. Being new to analog, I left the setting done by Eric Lim's technician on my VPI Aries 3, with JMW 10.5 arm and Zyx R100H cart connected to a Lehmann Black Cube, as is for 3 months. But recently, hindi ko na matiis yung brightness niya especially on music which has a fair amount of snare drumming and cybals in it. On paper, my Plinius-Dyn Confidence C1 is suppose to be tad warm in sonic signature, and my source is at most neutral. So I embarked on cable upgrade but it only did a liitle to tame the brightness. Finally, I decided to adjust the VTA, on the fly in my JMW tonearm, which was set to almost maximum level tail up. First by sight, I tried to level the tonearm while playing a record. When I looked at the scale, it was deadset at 50. Checked the VTF and saw it was also deadset at 2.00grams. The brightness was gone but the highs seem to roll off. The soundstage has also flattened. I decided to turn the knob again to slightly up the tail. The highs became sweet again but no longer bright. The soundstage became deep and wide again and airyness associated with the Zyx carts came back. After that, it was off to a whole night of Michael Jackson LPs. Never did I hear him sound so good. ;)

Zyx R100H on VPI Aries 3 with JMW 10.5 tonearm and Lehmann Black Cube

VTF - 2.30grams
VTA- Slightly tail up
Load-100 ohms

Next would be my Rega P3-24. But with this table, VTA adjustment is not on the fly. I will try your suggestions. Thanks
