@jomel - Hehe I think I over analyzed when I had the borax idea.

@mixx - Ooops, di pala naka-glue!

So, is it normal for the speed of the platter to be affected when you hold or spin the mat backward? wouldn't it affect the motor in the long run? or is that the reason why the 1200s are legendary?

Thanks for the invite to Chivz, but it would be very difficult for me to go to Greenhills on a Friday night since I'm from the south. Not unless there is a compelling reason... if you know what I mean ;) The rest of the gang will be fine though. Lets see if we can schedule something.

The slipmats shouldn't be too slippery naman. It should allow you to hold the record in place but have enough traction so you don't have to push off too much. The stock Technics slipmat or most other aftermarket slipmats are actually just right. The only problem is that the fibrous surface rubbing against the steel platter's lift holes can be irritating as this scrubbing can find its way into your cuing and even into the main outs during play. Some time back I got damper mats from Doc Lito (Stereophile) and put these between my platter and slipmat. Adjusting the arm height to compensate is easy as pie. HUGE improvement in sound quality! Lambingan niyo si Doc, baka gawan kayo. :) :) :)

Welcoming the Snake ha? hehe Oo nga pala di din ako pwede nun.

As for speakers, you might have forgotten the legendary Bose 802! Para period correct sa imimix mo. hehe
