Postby matalas » Wed Aug 27, 2014 1:58 pm

Hi Sirs/Madam's,

Matalas,

Medyo kulang yung chain bro, should be:

record player --> out board phono pre-amp (also called phono stage) --> pre-amplifier --> power amplifier --> speakers

or

record player --> pre-amplifier with built in phono stage/input --> power amplifier --> speakers

or

record player --> receiver/integrated amplifier with built in phono stage/input --> speakers

regards,

johnlen

this is an open-ended plan.
just like what most of us had when we started - a very expensive approach - but just as we say in this hobby, "the journey is more exciting than the destination" :hai:

Start with a modest TT - the simpler the better for you. Checkout Rene Rivo's page as he has a lot of TTs there.
Then look for an integrated amplifier with a Phonostage so you save a little.
Then a speaker system.
wires: interconnects, speaker cables

Then enjoy listening.

It is difficult at your stage because you are starting from ZERO. So you need to be patient.

Visit stores like those of Rene's for some used & new stuffs.
Visit the Grey Market in Katipunan Avenue back of Camp Crame for some new stuffs & hundreds of LPs; like a one-stop shop with speakers and all you need to go home complete - all new nga lang.

When I started going serious in this hobby (i.e. turntable, baga), I bought a Sansui R90 integrated amp in Raon & had my Dad's 'table reworked by a carpenter who built a box for it (i.e. "plinth" pala tawag doon). Bought some speaker wires (not cables) of red-and-black and got a Sansui Speaker, too - this time from Farmers Market. I think medyo upscale na yun.

After 30+ years - I'd like to believe I got what I like.
yeah.
right.

Best wishes in your journey.

keep us posted?
