My sister was diagnosed and advised to have her eye operated, cataracts they say. She'd prefer to have the operation done here as she's not comfortable having it done in the country where she currently works. Since she's doing the cataract operation, she plans to do the Intraocular Lense procedure at the same time to restore her vision to 20/20.

My question to our Wiredstate MDs is how much, even ball park figure lang, would such an operation cost here.

I hope this is the right forum. I apologize to the mod and please feel free to delete or move if necessary.

Thanks and have a great evening guys!

Dennis

Intraocular Lenses

When the lens of the eye is clouded by a cataract, monofocal or multifocal intraocular contact lenses can replace a damaged lens. A monofocal or multifocal lens implant is a stable, reliable options for improving vision.

Intraocular Lenses – Multifocal and Monofocal Lens Implant

Intraocular lenses - also called IOLs - come in two varieties: monofocal and multifocal intraocular lenses. IOLs are implantable lenses that replace the lens of the eye when it is removed during cataract surgery. Originally, IOLs were monofocal, or corrective of vision at one distance only, whether near, intermediate, or far. Since they correct vision at just one distance, glasses are still needed, especially if the patient suffers from presbyopia (or age-related farsightedness). Newer, multifocal intraocular lenses will correct vision at multiple ranges, without the use of glasses or regular contact lenses.
