No worries brady. I can try and get better than srp. Problem is, it's dependent on the number of pcs bought. 1 pc is priced differently from lets say 2-4 pcs, 5-24 pcs and/or 25pcs and over.

The last time I computed, a pair of TFTFs including shipping and taxes, came out to be over the SRP price. Not so sure now.

If you're looking at buying bulk ;-) just let me know. I know that there were some guys interested but only to piggy back an order in order to bring down costs.

Hmmmmmm. Top of the heap again according to die hard DIYers. Not surprised. There are however a lot of "big guns" in the unknown section mainly the AN-UK, Jensen and the Auri-teflon.

They had an interesting observation that more V-caps isn't always better and to just use them in the most critical applications. This mirrors what Von Schweikert said regarding V-capping the the higher VR models. He said to use them only on the tweeters as the cost benefit of using them on the midrange units is not very high. This didn't stop Venhaus from using all Teflons on his own pair of VR-4 SRs however. Kung sabagay malaki naman siguro self discount niya

I had Von Schweikert put V-caps in the VR-9s in place of the stock Hovland Musicapsat the factory. He made other adjustments to the Crossover's voicing as well to do this. I asked that he do the same for Emperor's VR-9s.

I have about 70 hours of playing time.

The VR-9s and VR-11s now have our requested crossover mods as standard issue in the Mk.2 configurations :D :D :D :D :D :D

It goes to show, be careful what you wish for. ;-) It's a good thing my experimentation turned out for the better.

If I had a Supratek I wouldn't touch it

The description does sound like an unbroken in V though. Very clear from the get go but somewhat mechanical. No patience, no gestalt

Any one used TRT Dynami caps? I like to know comments on Dynami Caps vs. V caps? Understand some one is planning on upgrading their ARC LS16, I presume from the current Infini caps to Vcaps or to Dynami Caps?

depends really what for, where installed, what are other elements in the amp. and personal and subjective preference.

i prefer oil cans, by-passed with those russian teflons, in the B+ (I wish I could afford the v-caps tftf :) ) k by-pass just lytics and small C mundorfs ag oils &/or rel-cap teflons (lower voltage rating than the russians, and much smaller) to parallel. VAC equalizing (say between screen and k in a pentode) I like the mundorfs ag/oil. coupling ... I was extremely fortunate to have been able to acquire ANs Ags years ago at around 1/4 of today's prices.

The output capacitors of my Trodt Pre amps where upgraded and are now transformer coupled. Likewise the coupling capacitors of my Trodt 6C33C monos where replaced by Interstage transformers. My Russian teflon caps are now idle. :(
Perhaps our technical experts can explain the details behind it. :^)
