Let's dance,
For fear tonight is all
Let's sway,
You could look into my eyes
Let's sway,
Under the moonlight, this serious moonlight

The impact of Bowie's passing, like his music, cuts across various demographics and goes beyond his loyal fan base who were hooked by his music and won over by his constant reinventions for decades. I have officemates who were saddened by his demise as they will always associate him with the movie "Labyrinth" - a movie that they watched over and over again growing up. There are those who were drawn to his art by his foray in film as a movie theme composer/singer (i.e., "The Falcon and the Snowman.") Some came to know his music through his many collaborations (i.e., Jagger, Queen, etc.) Still others through his Billboard hits ("China Girl," "Modern Love," etc.) His body of work reminds me of Sting's disdain for putting music in boxes and introducing genres and divisions as if such is really possible.

Thanks! Great article. Should have pushed thru with the aborted flight to catch their concert in Singapore or Bangkok years ago. Thankfully, their music will live on in vinyl and the like.
