One of the best things about the free trial month of iFlix is stumbling onto gems like this 8-part documentary produced by the late George Martin,

Do check it out. Adele, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, U2, Led Zep, Jimi Hendrix, etc are all featured here as the series explores the history of recorded music and the many out of the box tecniques that the greatest musicians of our time have uncovered/discovered.

This is quite possibly the most engaging among the 8 episodes of this documentary series. It celebrates the birth of the various media we've come to love starting with how the 78rpm format paved the way for the 33 1/3 rpm format. E Street Band's Steven Van Zandt below talks about how Columbia and RCA Victor competed with each other in inventing the vinyl record.
