I was recently given a fisher x100 integrated by my cousin and I would like to seek opinions on whether this a is good tube amp to have restored? Any help/opinion would be appreciated . Thank you.

Is that the 7189A variant? I used to have that amp and it's a nice sounding amp :)

I have no idea if this is a 7189A variant.. This is my first time to try to venture into tubes and I would not like to spend on something which is not a good restoration project. My present set up consists of a yamaha M-85 amp and C-85 preamp, thorens TD 160 super and Yamaha Sl 1200 turntables, micro seiki CD-M2 Cd player and Polk CRS and Celestion SL6-Si speakers. Thanks

I had a Fisher. I had it repaired not restored. It sounded good. Bilog na bilog. In my opinion this will make a good newbie amp if the repair cost isn't much. Mang Rod Tiope fixed mine. Have it fixed and restore later. Your ear and taste might mature and want a newer amp.

Any Fisher tube amp is a collectable and desirable item. So definitely worth repairing to keep it going.

Wish I had a cousin like yours.
