just looking at the iron and guess-timating their size... I suspect a bit of hyperbole in the power claims

Ang tindi naman ng power rating nung amps. Even in monobloc configuration, I'm guessing they either are overstating RMS or they have a hybrid circuit there somewhere augmenting power ala-LAMM.

i remember the first time submitted his cube amp rated 200watts to AUDIO magazine, it was found out that the actual power rating was 199watts......Bob Carver pulled out his amp and came back 1 year later, this time he made sure that the amp rated for 200 indeed met the spec as claimed......i would not doubt his power claims....

definitely not a newcomer to tubes, this is his famous carver silver seven from the 90's....featuring 7 6550's per side in a push-pull configuration, driven by paralled 12BH7's, input tube is a 12BY7.......the 15th 6550 tube is a screen grid regulator tube......Image

The transformers look pretty healthy! The number of tubes look reasonable for the power claim.

The power supply transformer looks huge...I think this is a "classic analog power supply" w/ solid state rectifier.

That amp looks like a major hassle to retube!

^way i see it, these tubes have longer tube life than can be expected because of the way they are operated, i.e. control of the screen grids with a low impedance voltage regulator, this is key........i adopted this approach with my 6LU8 power amps...
