The narra plinth is coated with flat polyurethane varnish and the black coating on the aluminum is also flat black, the flash on my Nikon make it look too shiny. :D

Edrel's endbells are all patayo now.

Yes, Class A, output is CCS biased, single stage preamp, UL and triode switch. We will be experimenting on phase inversion, now it is configured as self-inverting, later Edrel's autoformer and if the owner still wants improvement, lundahl 1660S. ;)

I will not be using input transformer? Are you referring to the self-inverting output stage?

Gave the EL84 amp to the owner after work. He noticed that the left and right channel is not perfectly balanced, spl wise. Otherwise, it sounds ok.

Got a call from him around 45 minutes later.

He did tube roll using what he thought was a 5687 tube, now the amp went into "mute" :(

Might just be a busted resistor on the PSU for the driver (hopefully that is the only thing wrong with the amp). Hehehehe....

^5687 is a high perveance tube with largish cathodes, pansinin mo malaki ang cathodes nya as compared to say a 6cg7....if the original tube used was a 12at7, or a 12au7, then you can not use that tube, they have different pin-outs....
