Can't take any credit for this. Before i met Doc E. I was content with diy projects that were working and safe. Now they have to be aesthetically pleasing too! Haay... i spent more time working on then chassis than on the board and testing

Definately a positive evolution  Thanks Doc.

Btw this project is not complex or hard to build at all. Sourcing good components from all over is the difficult part!

You're too kind Les. I believe that form and function goes hand in hand. . .but I also believe in the "sleeper" look! Looks ordinary but when it sounds off . . .! Kaboom! Tulala lahat! ;) Pangulat lang. More power on your magnificent builds and Godbless!

Thus one of the effects of the real "UPGRADE KING" on us mere mortals. Form and function are the mantras of the real "UK"!!!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure master jojoD's build will be awesome too. Napapadalas bisita ko kay Leslie just to hear the dcb1 and F5. Even at low volume, details abound with tactile bass! Thanks Nelson Pass for sharing your gifts! :) Loi, paguwi mo, sabay na kayo ni Obet at Tony! I assure you na hindi mawawala ngiti niyo. . . ;)

Always a pleasure having you over Doc. Will let you know once it's in its final form (still waiting for those Caps...). Looking forward to having you folks over.

cheers.

Finally, the industrial grade Cornell Dubilier caps (33,000 microfarads each) arrived last week and was installed on the F5

Sound wise(accdg to leslie), he had to turn off his MK subs because the bass output of his Monitor Audio RS6 increased considerably. If you noticed the fiberglass board, there are two slots left for 2 more caps. Other SQ findings will be filled in by Leslie(brainf). This guy is a happy camper and imho has hit the jackpot with this DIY project! HAIL NELSON PASS!!!  :)

Hi Doc,

Isn't 25V Caps is too low for the existing rail voltage?

I have with me 2 pairs of F5 Turbo Main Board rated at 100W Class A.

Tig-isa tayo? Gusto mo? Mura lang..

Cheers.

My build is the standard (non-turbo) version which runs on 25V DC rails (hence only 25W into 8 ohms) :) Voltage after rectification and filtering is approximately 23.5VDC.

Cool - you have the F5 Turbo boards, start scouting for a REALLY BIG chassis for that monster!

Hi Les,

Yes this is the version 3.

For the Chassis should be no problem. I found an ACCUPHASE P Series Clone Gold Face Plate Chassis Already.

A little costly but im planning to purchase by next month.

Hi Doc Endrik....Mag F5 ka na
Mura lang pati Chassis hindi magiging problema... may kasama pang metro
Kaya lang may problema sa metro...may lente :geek: :geek: :geek:

Hi Tony!

Loi (AbadSantos7) is a pinoy engineer based in the land of "clones". It's probably just the chassis of an Accuphase copy, judging from the pictures. (correct me if I'm wrong, Loi). :)

cheers,
leslie

Hi Tony,

Les is correct, All I posted is a clone chassis for Krell and Accuphase.

Measured 480X480X182 these are huge and heavy. The supplier told
me its from 15 to 20kg.

Cheers.
