i think Edrel is busy house building.....

isolation transformers are employed in order to avoid shocks and humming if you are having those issues on your set-up....otherwise, we are already using isolation transformers in our gears.....remember the 5 tube am radios of days long gone? that is an example of a gear without isolation transformer....very dangerous looking back.......

haven't had posted in a long while. i believe i had already replied to muypogi's queries. and brady, could be case to case basis re: isolations. if you can hear an improvement and it can isolate some audible noise why not? otherwise i will stick to plugging my equipment directly to the power source, i like it this way. :) :)

sometime ago tony had posted a power conditioner circuit that can be coupled to an isolation transformer. tony had built one i believe, he might be able to comment with the advantages of plugging equipment into it. tony thanks for the rescue, been busy with the kid and work.. :D :D

well, you know these adverts, they are made with one objective only, that is to make you part with your hard earned cash....if you are not having issues with the power in your location, then you don't need one....

isolation transformer (input: 216/223/230/237V, output: 226/117V), 1KVA equipped with voltage selectable primary to suit and match secondary loads:

Edrel... that's one serious iron.... with an ampere meter...

put in a volt meter, insert somewhere some kind of a common mode choke/s, high freq shunt caps (ala Jon Risch, but just in the pico range)... then compare it with the megabuck imports...

or you can fabricate an AC regenerator, like those AC filters used in lab instruments... heheheheh

Superb craftmanship and quality! This was custom-built by Edrel for me given the specs for my amps and voltage situation in my room: manage input voltage of 240-250v while providing clean and relatively stable outputs of 226v and 117v (specs for most vintage amps) +/-2%volts at varying loads of 1-4A.

Congrats Edrel and thanks for your patience on this project . as you have heard in my room, musical presentation is cleaner. i can't live without it now :)

Hi Nic... from personal experience. We've replaced OPT for two known brands (admittedly, neither top-of-the-line), a PP KT88 and a PP EL34. Edrel's transformer was obviously better than the original iron the units came with.
