I've planned on posting my simple diy projects but only found time now. I'm sticking to wood and other materials. No hardware for the meantime after frying my dac. Pardon me for the low-res pics, need to upgrade my camera. So, here goes:

Wood casings

Image
My HH Scott 233 Stereomaster with a narra casing.

Image
...flip-top grill for easy access on tubes.

Image
My Motorola EL84 pp amp pulled out from a console. Power amp on palochina base with ball bearings and preamp in narra casing.

Image
...a closer look of the preamp

Cables

Image
Interconnects from an IBM connector wire with hand carved wood loaded with ferrite beads and terminated with Amphenol jacks.

Image
Speaker cables using 4 strands CAT-5 with ferrite beads on both ends.

Abubots

Image
Cable lifters made of palochina.

Image
Tube dampers with rings cut from thick coil springs and rubber tubes.

Image
Footers made of cork and rubber.

Image
An art deco that works as an acoustic tool as well. Made of cork and different kinds of wood.

Image
TT lamp assembled from 2 scrapped lampshades.

I've done a lot more including all the acoustic treatments in my listening room, a simple but fun and relaxing place.

Aside from the music, doing these little things makes this hobby even more enjoyable.[imeem][/imeem]

Nice wood stuff!

Noticed that the room was treated.

Seems like a big listening room. I hope we get to listen one of these days.

Congrats !

It's roughly around 28sqm, 31 if cr is included. The longest wall is 18ft across. But, it's oddly shaped, with 5 walls and a low ceiling. I used to bring in my stuff even if its still under renovation just to have a feel of it. The slap echo was so bad. Acoustic treatment was necessary. One thing really nice about this room is the line is separate from the house using 2ga wires. Used to have a commercial line here.

You can have a listen anytime. I live in Commonwealth Ave., QC. Buzz me so we can sked it.

Thanks.

Thanks for the kind words.

Heard of the Payatas gang. I'll be delighted to host you guys. Others can join too. You have my no., call or text me so we can coordinate. I live in Capitol Estate I, in between Ever mall and St. Peter Parish Church.

Do you know I belong to the "lonely hearts club band" of music lovers if ever there's one. I've got only 1 friend who's into this hobby. Malungkot din makinig kapag mag-isa.

Hope to hear from you soon.

You're an artisan, Tony - very nice woodworks and acoustic treatments :hai:
You seem to be a gifted DIYer as well!

So there are now quite a number of us WS members here in the QC-area - the "Payatas Boys" are there, I am in Visayas Avenue, we got some in the West Avenue area, BF area, and some more :)

There's another WS member who has a similar project (i.e. Sansui Integrated, etc in Kamagong  ) as yours - he should see this!

Cheers!

Panoramic shots of the entire room.

Image
Back wall and side walls.

Image
Front wall (the old look). On the left side is the console where I got the Motorola EL84. Good for mono listening, all Jensen alnico drivers. Also, in this picture, are the palochina speaker stands I made for the Scott AS1 monitors.

Cheers.

The flip-top grill was actually created out of frustration. Mahirap ukitin yung gilid ng kahoy para ma-slide yung original grill. Aside from the difficulty of making a straight cut, baka mabasag din yung kahoy. The idea just came out of nowhere. Turned out to be better, innovative and macho-looking pa!

Hi jon agner,

My ceiling is treated as well.

Image

Half of my ceiling is covered with 200 egg trays. Stiff neck at pangangawit ng kili**** inabot ko sa pag-install ng mga ito. I thought of painting them but they blended well with my blue and gray color motiff. Reflections from the ceiling vanished.
